Skin Care: ( My Daily "Pick Me Up")

For this time of year when it is hot and humid outside, here's what I do for my Daily "Pick Me Up".  I use a hypo-allergenic gel cleanser with cool water to clean my face and close my pores. I then follow-up with a light hydrating serum to hydrate my skin. I finish with a super emollient lip balm.  This regime keeps me with a refreshed and healthy glow.  Now I'm ready to apply light makeup.  Remember your skin is your best accessory!

Light-Bodied Wispies Light-bodied Wispy Full-bodied Wispy Boy do I love a great lash! A great pair of lashes is like a great pair of shoes! They will bring life to your look... But you have to be careful not to choose the wrong pair. I tend to gravitate towards the light-bodied wispy ones with feathered ends. The heavy blunt ones tend to be over-whelming and distract from your natural beauty. Sure, some occasions may call for the more dramatic or costume lashes but we should definitely leave them for those festive occasions. In fact, Shu Uemura designs an amazing line of artistic and dramatic lashes. I have several pairs that were custom-made for one of my celebrity clients by one of their top Japanese artistic directors, Yuji Asano. I call them my precious cargo! Some are made of mink and some are even foiled with 14k gold! Exciting stuff but certainly not meant for regular use! Uber-talented Givenchy designer, Ricardo Tisci more than exceeded our expectations during this season's presentation during Fashion Week Paris (March '13). Of course I had the pleasure of glamming up his muse grammy award winning entertainer Ciara who sat front row at the show! Me, I sat 2nd row... Lol! It was absolutely amazing!

You have to appreciate these gorgeous faces sporting the look of Minimalism ( Some done by me and others not)  Ladies, sometimes "less is more".  Actually, most times "less is more"...lol!  There's nothing more lovely than being able to see healthy skin through makeup. Allowing the the skin's natural texture and radiance shine through is an amazing beauty secret that some of us just have NOT been able to grasp!  The key to true beauty is one's confidence and their commitment to healthy living. I tell all my clients the first step to looking great is a good daily skin care regime. Drink lots of water, exercise and eat right. This gives you more flexibility to enhance your own natural beauty by playing up your best features instead of camouflaging them with too much product. Hot Shots: Ciara Takes ‘One Woman Army’ To ‘Annex Magazine’

Ciara adds further fuel to ‘One Woman Army‘s fire this week, gracing the cover of ‘Annex Magazine’- as seen above.

Hitting the high street fashion publication for a tell all interview and haute couture inspired spread, her union with the mag no doubt marks the latest promotional effort for her long awaited new album, which will feature contributions from Mike Will Made It, Soundz and R&B Prince Elijah Blake.

So when we can we get our hands on the spread? The answer to that question is March 18th and is now available to pre-order here, hours before her new single ‘Body Party’ hits iTunes tomorrow!

The Lips Have It!

Sometimes all you need to do is add a really hot lip color and go!  This will provide the perfect punch to an otherwise bland look. Although I just love all things to do with makeup and beauty, I personally feel that most times less is more.  In terms of makeup, we tend to over think our presentation for special occasions or just a fun night out.  But a clean face, tons of mascara and a truly spectacular shade of lip color ( the operative word here is color) is a look that oozes confidence in the modern girl!
